Added by mary – all sort of silly fun stuff – hope you enjoy reading it – there certainly were a select few who made the papers frequently – I made it a couple of times – once for dating john Heritage – a very nice young man and a lovely man – gone too soon.
I never went to high school to get an education – I went for the social life – and I loved it – as a student I failed – to use miss Fox’s comments to me one day – MARY YOU HAVE A DON’T CARE ATTITUDE – guess I did, but I certainly have some wonderful memories of my high school days and the students I met. They were amazing people and still are – I have some not so nice memories – oh, Mr. Chapman – and a couple of teachers who should have chosen another vocation, but the rest were spectacular. Miss Grindly was special to me as she attempted to keep me from dropping out of school. And of course everyone’s favourite Bob Cringan. I miss those people, but what memories we have and being a teen in the 50s was a very special time in the 20th century. I don’t know of any other teen time that had the excitement of the 50s. It certainly was a very special era….have a great luncheon and keep well…Mary Dowson Harris.
