Seasons greeting to all.
The committee wishes everyone a wonderful Christmas & a happy,
healthy New Year.
Again I have been remiss in not sending out more information about
happenings with our fellow Haigers.
I still hope to do so in the new year.
I was extremely happy to see the response from so many about the old
pictures Anita ‘Maki’ sent me.
I found out later that our man Russ S. had already posted the same
pictures, but with more details on John Dowson’s website: “Willowdale
Graffiti”. There are links on our website.
If you just want to view the pictures click on http://rstrathdee.com/willow/photosDowson.htm.
Also
the response to Bob “Bobo” Pearson request re: his grandson was terrific. A
copy of his note to me follows;
Dear
Carl
Just a
note to thank you on behalf of my family and particularly my grandson Rob Bagg
for taking the time and effort to vote for him on the recent CFL Pepsi
Challenge for Charity. Rob unfortunately finished second out of 8, but we are
told it was extremely close. Sask Roughriders as you are aware also finished
second in the Grey Cup which to a Rider fan really "sucks".
Unfortunately Rob hurt his knee (ACL) in the fifteenth game and could not play in
the big game. He was really disappointed obviously and also because he was due
to work out with the Cincinatti Bengals in the NFL in January. He was operated
on three weeks ago in London and is now well on his way to a full recovery and
will be in training camp in June.
Carl,
thanks again for spreading the info around about the CFL Charity Challenge to
all our fellow Haigers. The response to same via e-mails was really great and
was extremely appreciated. I look forward to next May to thank those involved.
Best
personal regards
- Bob
(Bobo) Pearson.
