Our 35^th Annual Reunion Dinner

Hi to all

It’s that time again, I’m a little late with this letter, but always remember it’s in early May each year. We are holding it at The Donalda Club, (York Mills and Don Mills Roads), a great venue for us.

It will be on Monday, May 9.  As always, laughs, hugs, smiles, with cocktails and our band playing great music, starting around 6.00 pm with dinner planned for 7.30.  We have many who attend most years, so they know the routine. Anyone with a question, just call me. Oddly enough, even though we all enjoy the dinners and friendships, most don’t see each other between dinners. Even the committee members have not met since last year. The fact that we get such a great turnout says it all. It is always something to look forward to and enjoy. 

There is not much news or a lot to tell. Many cruise or travel to different places all around the world. I do get emails from many schoolmates, mostly jokes, a few pictures and stories of a recent trip or family event. I have been remiss in not putting more pictures or comments on our website. My apologies to those who have sent me pictures.

We are in the process of starting  an EHCI 50`s BLOG – I don’t know much about it yet but Russ thinks it will make it much easier  for those interested to read about current happenings without putting them on our website. When it is up and running, we will post it on the website and will explain how it works.

A few of us older boys did get together for a Christmas lunch and plan to do it each and every year. There is only one letter mailed each year. We never know if it is reaching everyone, as addresses, emails, change or get lost. So please if there is a change, let us know, as we try to keep our Master List current. The cost this year to $ 70.00 per person, but that does include taxes, tip, a glass of wine with dinner and three tickets for the 50/50 draw.

We will also be celebrating Bill and Susan Dunsmoor’s 50^th wedding anniversary.

We have to let the club know and guarantee the number attending, as well as your choice of entree (steak, chicken or salmon).  Please RSVP to me as soon as you decide to attend, with your choice of entree. Special meals can be arranged, just let me know. Say yes, even if you cannot commit for sure, as long as you cancel by May 4^th, there will not be a problem. You can always decide even at the last minute, as the club always has food available.   If you can’t attend the dinner, try to join us for cocktails. If you pay by cheque, make it payable to the ‘DONALDA CLUB’. There will be a Cash Bar.

Time is passing too quickly, many have some health problems, find it hard to drive at night, etc, but I really encourage everyone, especially  those who have never or only occasionally attend, to join us. Unfortunately  Nick Purdue and Bill Withrow may not be joining us this year and Lola ‘Collins’ will be in Scotland. Roberta ‘Anderson’ will also be travelling. Jack Foote will be the only teacher attending. Cindy and Betty ‘McVeity’ from Vancouver and Heather ‘Magwood’ from Sudbury will be attending. Al Connolly just returned from a trip to Africa. He has agreed to tell us some highlights of his amazing trip.
