Just a quick note about our reunion dinner on May 9

Once again, everyone had a wonderful time, catching up and reminiscing about our best, our worst and most memorable days at EHCI, and silly teacher stories – especially Roger Allen tales. One of the hi-lights was Al Connolly – his outfit, his dancing to our great band, and his shortened descriptive talk about his amazing recent trip to Africa. Unfortunately he left pictures and artefacts to show us at a friend’s house just before he arrived at the dinner. The last songs played by the band were our school songs. We all joined in and sang together with great enthusiasm. We presented the INK POT to Bill & Susan Dunsmoor, our gracious hosts for the evening. Mary 'Dowson' Harris won the 50/50 draw & made a generous contribution, helping us with our expenses.It was most appreciated.

For next year we were thinking of having our dinner on a Toronto Harbour sightseeing cruise. Almost everyone thought it was a great idea at the dinner, but in the last couple of days I have received a few emails wondering if it was the best thing for us. There are many things to consider and we don’t have much information yet. The most important thing to me is that we don’t exclude too many of us that would normally attend the dinner. We would appreciate hearing any comments you may have.

For all of us that attended the dinner, we didn’t win anything on our MAX lottery ticket. I heard from several on Saturday, so I know it created some interest. A comment from Verna to me about buying another ticket for us, Danny Antonacci’s idea of maybe buying a vacation villa in Italy for all of us to use (free), Al Connolly saying everyone should visit Africa once, prompted me to buy another ticket for next Friday’s draw. I replayed the ticket again. Nobody won last Friday’s draw, so next week’s prize is $ 36 million. The same rules will apply. All those that were in attendance at the dinner will share in the money, after part is used for trips, dinners & charity. Other Haigers will also share in many other benefits. The committee’s decision will be final.
