Martin Silver's background on the Fraternity: "Over the course of the late 50's and through three decades+, there were Fraternities and Sororities at the Haig. I'm not quite certain of this but I believe the Fraternity that I joined in 1969 was the 1st one at the Haig and ended up being the longest running Fraternity at the school. This chapter at the Haig was Gamma Delta and it was part of the Gamma Sigma Fraternity, which was the oldest High School Frat, being founded in 1869 in Brockport New York.
The Gamma Delta Chapter was chartered at the Haig in 1957 and continued until 1988. The other Fraternities at the Haig were Alpha Zeta, Kappa Delta and Gamma Delta Psi.
There were also two Sororities; one was our organizations sister Sorority, Theta Kappa Sigma and the other was called, Alpha Beta Psi."
